The example you reffer to, is a flash3d relic of mine :)
the code is too expensive as is, and it's using displacement, not normalmaps

we have now some beauties opening new possibilities...
but I let David Lenaerts extend on this..

I tried messing with combining stuff into CompositeMaterial and I
don't think it can be done that way.
