Hi, I've reached the point where I need to upgrade my authoring tools,
and I'd like some advice on tool chain.

What's the best way to author and export character animation to
Away3D? I want a rigged character (mesh & bones), multiple poses, and
then to be able to animate and export skinned animations that Away3D
can play.

Also it would be great to have a workflow to export camera animation
to Away3D. I haven't seen much discussion of that, do any of the file
readers handle this?

Inexpensive tools would be a nice answer :) but productivity and
reliability are important. E.g. I've tried Blender, but I've had lots
of problems, with the current version if I export collada with
animation the files don't parse in Away3D. Also I find Blender pretty
hard to use compared to commercial tools, maybe I just haven't given
it enough time though.

Other medium-priced tools I was curious about:
- Is there a good Poser workflow for this?
- Carrara 7.0 lists collada export, but it sounds like it is only
object export, not animation. Anyone know?

But I'm open for other ideas, including higher end stuff.

Thanks!
Mike
