Hello, I am trying to do the same thing that is in the video that is on first person shooters. I use blender and i modeled a simple dungeon just like in the video with UV mapped textures and I i made the textures png 256x256 and it is triangles with the normals facing inward and I have tried it with the normals facing outward.
I export the model from blender as an obj, or a 3ds or a dae. I load it in to prefab and emulate the video except that I have to import the model as an obj, 3ds or dae because blender does not export awd files. I run the generator and and export the files. It saves the png files in the images folder and exports the awd and the as files for the project. I load it into flash cs4 and I have the path for the flex sdk 4 and the away3d 3.5 flash 10 version. Set the swf background in the fla to black and publish. What happens is that i can manipulate the mouse, and I can move up and down. If I move the mouse down I can see the black background of the stage and if I move up it shows me the white of the model that has no image loaded. It is seams that I am on the outside even though the camera is set up on the inside. Something that might be of note are that I have to set the "Scene Obj Scale" to 30 or more to get the model the right size for the BSP generator. Even though in blender I have scaled it to be huge. I know that this is probably and issue with something I did but I have no clue and after 2 days of trying everything I can think off my head is kind of bloody bruised. Can someone help or can someone give me a working example that states from a 3ds, dae or obj file and include the model file as well? That way I can load the file into blender and see if there is a difference that I am just missing? Also I have had to redo the export of the model in blender several times and sometimes prefab will not export the rendered textures. Is it just me? If you need me to upload all the files I can do that to. Just tell me where. Thanks in advance
