I know I need make doc/tuts... but good news is: Prefab is very easy.

If your model with 1000 polys  is displayed as a green rect into the uv editor, 
this means your uv's 
are all equal per face, probably all 0,0/0.5,1/1,0
The editor allows you to project using the available projections methods either 
on the entire mesh or your selection
The displayed dots representing the uv's coordinates on the map, can be adjust 
by hand as well.
