if i understand it correctly, you can define a frustum similar to this:

<http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f1/Frustum_clipping.svg/800px-Frustum_clipping.svg.png>this
means that what's inside the frustum (blue square in this example) will be
rendered. one of the differences between frustum and rectangle clipping is
that the minZ and maxZ actually work.
