Ah - thanks much!! We're trying to get the word out as much as possible in the tech arena. Showcasing what is possible with a LOT of determination (haha :D). It took 2 of us full time about 2 months to get all the 3D stuff worked out. We looked at 3-4 different 3D engines and Away3D made it easiest (by far), especially with their prefab tool. It enabled us to isolate development of different aspects of 3D. I was able to concentrate on the main application while someone else was able to build a class to work specifically with the 3D. Then, all I had to do was drop the class in my application, tweak some code and go about my business.
We had to limit this down to under 3k polygons (note the rather sharp edges, especially in the smaller states) because we were forced to target FP9. We're REALLY looking forward to the huge advancements in 3d coming with these new apis for upcoming versions of flash player. It can only get better for sure! Thanks again!
