Sounds like they would keep it for themselves. In fact I don't understand what is the problem guys.The fact that at Adobe Max 3d the MoleHill showcase was presented by Away and Alternativa teams should say you a lot about who rules in Flash 3d realm today. Besides there are plenty of companies with their own engines ,some of them pretty good but the point is that they are closed.Here we have got a top quality open source engine which is constantly upgraded by the wonderful team which does it for free( may be not completely) but you see what I mean.I think for us the community this aspect is really most important .There is no problem to hire a couple of game engine programmers veterans who can develop something Unreal Engine like for money but it takes a lot of dedication and commitment to do it for free.
