Hi Darcey,

Away3D has ownCavas and Away3D Lite has layers. To enable alpha,
blending and all the fun Flash stuff you need to assign a new Sprite
to the layer property of your plane and then use TweenLite on the
layer:

myPlane.layer = new Sprite();
view.addChild( this.layer );

I found that assigning MouseEvent to that layer also worked best for
me. The only issue if that when a plane shows its back the mouse
cursor won't show. Other than that the click event works great.

This technique was used for this site: http://sashawaltz.neuesmuseum.com/
The animated hotspots are custom planes with layer blending and use a
custom VideoMaterial. The web server is a bit slow, but once loaded go
to any room to see the video hotspots.

Cheers,

Jerome.
