Good day, Jim. A screenshot would likely be helpful for understanding
this, though I think I have a pretty good mental image based on your
description. Thanks also for your detailed report on this issue.

Is the commit g287028 that you mentioned the very last one that works
before the issue occurs? (I.e. is the one after it the offending one?)
If I understand correctly that this is just the last commit you were
on before upgrading, then it is possible to spend some time doing a
git-bisect to determine the exact commit that breaks your rc.lua. I
can then read this commit and get a good idea for what is wrong.

Also, since this is likely to be an issue with your rc.lua for the
reason you mentioned, it may be helpful for you to post that as well.

And in general, I'm a fan of yours as a computer science/philosophy
student myself.
