I'm a new convert, so be gentle with me.

When using Gnome I got used to having NetworkManager. Now I can still
have it installed with awesome, but nm-applet is a bit heavy on the
dependencies so I'm wondering what my options are.

What I want:

1. The functionality of NetworkManager, control of and switching
   between configured networks (i.e. configuring doesn't necessarily
   have to be as graphical and easy as with NM).
2. An applet to make control/switch easy.

Is NM the only kid in town who offers this functionality? Will I have
to resort to nm-cli in order to stick with NM?

/M

I invented the term Object-Oriented, and I can tell you I did not have
C++ in mind.
