One of the great things about having the cursor move to the top-left is that (I think, for most people) there's a wibox up there, so the mouse doesn't get placed into any window and the focus goes back to the last active window on the screen. At least, a quick test of moving the mouse to the center of the screen changes the focus for me. I see the benefit of having the cursor go to the center though :).
