You do know that there are other window managers which allow extension in python? i3 comes to mind (I'm currently running that with awesome as my backup for when something doesn't work). One-language-to-rule-them-all isn't really helpful. Awesome is... awesome, really, and its all built around Lua. Changing that would not in my opinion be at all useful work at this point.
