With all due respects to everyone concerned, I would like to express my -1 for this mode of adding committers.
This is not my understanding how Apache works: you do the work first and *then* you become a committer. I don't know Jamie or David or Richard, so this is in no way personal, but AFAIK their intent to work on something does not give them the priviledge of committership. If Sam or Dims or any such PMC (or board) type person still thinks this is an acceptable way then I automatically withdraw my opposition.
