Thanks for the pointer, but sorry to say I'm still not getting it :( All the examples given here are based on the existence of a .wsdd deployment file, which I don't have. My target Web Service is identified via a WSDL. There is no client stub, only a service endpoint URL and a port name. The Service object is created directly from the WSDL content. How does WSS4J work in the absence of the .wsdd file? BTW I can post some example code to clarify my situation.
