i find xslt painstakingly annoying.  xps is used in the 'real' world. its easy
and fast to put together ..  and axkit caches it nicely.  you can throw the
power of perl in your pipeline.

its an alternative.

to be honest, I find it a bit odd so many are quick to limit their
tools and choices and conform to the herd 'cause some sheep get scared.
