Anyway, I applied your patch, but unfortunately nothing changed. I made sure that I cleaned up all caches between me and the XML document (AxKit's, reverse proxy's and browser's), but the pages still show the wrong thing.
Any other idea?
Check your LANG, LANGUAGE, LINGUAS and LC_ALL environment variables. Make sure they aren't set to something with UTF-8 in them.
