A) That's old 11.04 screenshots. IIRC the lenses are to be movable to the launcher in 12.04, not sure about filters as quicklists, through :P B) How the filters act in 11.04 and 11.10 and 12.04 is exactly what you are describing - selecting the "internet" filter will only show you internet apps, the "media" one only media apps etc... The difference is that in 11.04 filters were accessible through both - quicklists on the lens in the launchers and via the Dash and in 11.10 they are only accessible via the Dash, but (read A)
