Susana, Thank you so much for sharing. I did a check on Barnacle Love and see that it originates in Lomba da Maia (where my husband was born). I am so excited I have to get the book. Barnes & Noble is carrying it in the U.S. I just happen to have finished reading "Emigrantes" by Ferreira do Castro. It is about a man leaving his village in mainland Portugal and emigrating to Brazil to make some money, but it doesn't work out as he expects. It was a great story. Maria Sousa
