I am new to the group but have been researching my Azorean ancestry
for quite some time. My two primary freguesias are Lagoa (Nossa
Senhora do Rosario) and Faja de Cima / Faja de Baixo, where my great-
grandparents were born, later immigrating to Providence and East
Providence, Rhode Island. From there I have branched out to many
other surrounding freguesias and back a few centuries in some cases.
All surnames in my ancestry and their freguesias of location are the
following:

Costa Pires, Telles Pires, Gonçalves, de Andrade, de Oliveira, de

Faja de Baixo / Faja de Cima (Sao Miguel): da Ponte, Cabral,
d'Andrade, de Medeiros Fernandes, do Rego, Fernandes, da Rocha

Rabo de Peixe (Sao Miguel): da Ponte, da Camara, do Amaral, de

Bretanha (Sao Miguel): de Amaral, de Benavides
Maia (Sao Miguel): da Ponte, Correia, Pacheco, Correa Simas, Barboza,

Povoaçao (Sao Miguel): da Ponte, de Medeiros
