I am Charlotte White and live in Hawaii. I have much information on my mother's family roots. Her grandparents were Jose Tavares Teves born on June 1, 1854 in Rabo de Peixe and her maternal grandmother was Rosa Augusta Ventura also from Rabo de Peixe. We can trace both of these families back to the 1600-1700 hundreds.
However, I have very little information on my mother's fathers family. He was Joseph Tavares Ferreira and was born on Feb. 22 1879 in Riberia Grande and was the son of Jose Tavares Ferreira born in 1843 and Maria Augusta Pimental born about 1848. He arrived in Hawaii on Aug. 24, 1881. I would be very grateful if anyone has any info. on this side of the family.
