Though my Luiz Ferreira b. abt. 1700 was from Ribeira Grande m. to Maria ? de Mederios. They brought down Luiza de Medeiros m. Manuel do Santos Faria. Their child was Monica Jacinta de Jesus who married Joao Borge Tavares. Joao was the grandchild of Joao Rodrigues Ferreira and Maria dos Santos. The male dropped the Tavares in the early 1800's? I can understand the female dropping Ferreira since they kept their mothers name instead as you can see by Ferreira is no longer added as well. They are coming from NS da Conceicao, but others are from NS da Estrella as well.

He arrived in Hawaii on Aug. 24, 1881. I would be very grateful if anyone has any info. on this side of the family.
