*Hi, Marcio: Usually I'm successful in cleaning up the copy with the microsoft eraser by going over it letter by letter and dot by dot. Although it's tedious, it really is worth it. This time it didn't work. It's like there's a film over the letters. I highlighted it in yellow because someone told me it would be easier to read.
Thanks to the help of the Google Groups, (Hermano, Cheri and yourself) I've learned the year and most of names. There is one name in question. The father: it's at the end of the line and the priest separated the 4 letters in the name. Hermano thought it was Luis but I don't see the "L". I thought it looked like Joao. Because he gave me the name of the mother, Sebastiana Perreira, I should be able to find her husband because her name is unusual. I'm pretty sure it's Sao Pedro, in Ponta Delgada, not Vila do Porto in Santa Maria because I initially got the information from the Sao Pedro Index. I appreciate so much the help and ideas I get on from the people on this list. Thank you for trying to read this.
