Thank you all for your hotel suggestions. You always come through. I have made a reservation and we are on a wait list for a Hotel Avenida cancellation. My next question: I had planned to stay in Sao Miguel until May 12, BUT, when I look at the air schedule for SATA that day, there is only one flight that leaves Ponta Delgada at 21.24 and arrives in Lisbon at .30 just after midnight and this is just not an option for us. I notice that May 11 had many more flights. Is anyone familiar with the SATA schedule? Is there only one flight on May 12 to Lisbon? If this is the case, then I will have to cut my time in Sao Miguel short and leave for Lisbon on May 11 on the late afternoon flight in which case I have to change my hotel reservation :-(.
