Good evening,
I have just joined this group tonight, and have had a browse through the archives before I posted my question. I found what I have read so far to be very interesting and informative. The relatives I am researching were born in Portugal, but married in Australia in 1856. Their wedding in Australia was a catholic wedding. Can someone please advise where I might find a list of Catholic parishes in Portugal in the 1800's? I also have a very basic question (I am new to research in Portugal) . is the best way to research a birth in the early 1800's be to look for church records for births or baptisms?
