Hi Elaine, I don't know about the hotel you mention; however, I have stayed in Angra a few times. The Bara Mar (sp?) is on the water. It is walking distance from the Se (the main church) that is in the business district. all the shops are along the main street and one or two blocks off the main street. I stayed at a sister residential of the Bara Mar, A Ilha residentcial, Rua Diretia, 24 - 9700-66 Angra do Heroismo. Telephone, 295 628 180 Fax, 295 628 181. "Located in the heart of the historical center of Angra do Heroismo, Residencial A Ilha has nine double and 3 single rooms..." They are less expensive; have rooms on the street that let you look out at the activities that take place there. (It is noisy on the street. All the staff speak English very well and are very friendly. I stayed a week alone and had a great time talking with the people at the residential. They have a full bar and serve a continental breakfast. Upon my arrival in Angra, I went to the SATA office and made all my reservations to fly from Terceira to Sao Miguel; from Sao Miguel to Faial and back to Terceira. Because I had flown from Oakland, CA to Terceira on Azores Express- Group Sata, they gave me a great discount on my interisland flights. Celeste, Hayward, CA
