Trevor,

In my great grandparents case and the siblings they married other people from
the Azores but not necessarily the same island.? My great grandfather was from
San Miguel and married someone from Pico.? Then two other brothers married her
sisters.? It was eligible women and men in the fraternal organizations and
church in the town where they settled.? The others married Azorean Portuguese
but not from San Miguel.? This is in California.

Hope that helps,
Pat (Vieira Anselmo) Nostrome

Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Immigrants Who Married, once Arriving in US

?

Group,

?

For those of you who have been studying the habits of our immigrant
ancestors for a much longer time than I have, would you say that it is
prevalent
that?those who?immigrated, to the US,?as Singles would most
likely marry people that came from the same town or municipality that they
did?

?

Thank you.
