Sometime institutions will become tired of genealogists and refuse to help any of them. Whether that is in your location, mine, or the Azores. I wouldn't be insistent, as you said, but if you did not include any money, then include it as ask if they are now able to fulfill your request. I don't know where you live or why your FHC films take a year. You need to ask the director at your FHC why it takes so long. I haven't ordered film in a while, but I think it took about 4-6 weeks for a film to come from Utah to CA, where I live.
