Hi Nancy, I am so sorry for your loss. I will say a prayer for you and your family.
Now she isn't in any pain anymore from the cancer. Your mother died at a young age of 81. Thank goodness my Dad is still alive and doing well at the young age of 91. I talk to him every day. She was 81 years old. She was a very good mother and we will all miss her humor and strong opinions! She was a descendant of Sao Jorge people on both sides with the exception of a Pico grandmother. Her family came from many states to be with her.....she always loved it when we all gathered together. She was delighted with the genealogy discoveries I've been able to share with her and said she couldn't wait to tell my Dad about the newest discovery that George Pacheco found when she got to heaven! (I recommend George if you want to hire a researcher)....(Dad's grandmother, Caterina Cabral, from Santa Maria, goes back to Dom Afonso lll). She was a people person and would have loved her funeral......over 300 people there and the processional was so long you couldn't see the end.
