I have been trying to find the parents for António Furtado Silva b. 11/2/1888 Fazenda das Lajes, Flores. His parents are João Furtado Frade and Maria da Conceição dos Santos Melao both from Agua d'Alto, San Miguel, Azores. João's Parents are Francisco Furtado Frade and Maria de Jesus Correia. Maria's parents are Manuel Paiva Melao and Carolina da Conceição de Jesus. All belived to be from Agua d'Alto, San Migel, Azores. António's son Louie does no know how his father got the Silva name because none of the relatives he knew, did not have the name Silva. When he asked his dad when young why his last name was Silva and his father wasn't all he got was a shrug and never explained. Hope there is someone that can help. Doe anyone have a San Miguel web site?
