Rick,
I don't know about any study, but I have noticed in the parish of Sao
Pedro, Vila Franca, that there seem to be lots of twins.  When I am
searching the Salga records I don't come across that many.
It would be interesting to know if there is some genetic reason for
the number of twin births in Vila Franca.
