Hi Rick,

I have many twins in my families from Norte Grande, Sao Jorge. One of my
grgrandpas is a twin and there are about 4 sets of twins in this line alone!

  Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Twins

  Hi All

Just a general discussion but has any study been done on the frequency of
twins in the Acores? In my own lines in the past 50 years I can come up with
three sets of twins. In my research in the parish of Santissimo Salvador
(1836-1883) there seems to be a couple sets of twins born each year. I have not
counted up the exact number but the frequency seems to be much greater than the
general population.

I remember seeing a program a few months ago about a village in Brazil where
there seemed to be an unusually high number of twins. The conclusion of the
program was that it was genetic.
