I think Hermano has it right. The record appears to be missing the
name of the bride and/or the mother, and one has been interchanged for
the other inadvertently, because, certainly the bride cannot be
defunta. The priest inserted Jose Frz, and Frz is clearly the same as
in the priest's signature, Vigario, Antonio Frz (Fernandes) Franco. He
is one of two brother priests, from a well known Franco line in Lagoa.
One was briefly a priest in very early Ponta Garca, where he died. I
tracked him because I was hoping for a Franco link to my ancestors.
