Thank you for your response, Margaret. It was from the marriage of Antonia & and Jose, Feb. 23, 1772, that I obtained their parents' names. I do not have anything back farther than Antonia's parents; Antonio da Costa and Maria de Medeiros. As I count down from Antonio da Costa & Maria de Medeiros, they are my husband, Bob Perry's 5th great-grandparents on his paternal grandmother's side of the family. It is this paternal grandmother, Maria Cristo Morais, for whom I search. She is the only ancestor for whom I cannot find a record, other than her marriage record in RI, that names her parents.
