Christine, I descend from Francisco and Appelonia, but I don't have either of their earlier lines. I have them originating from Lages and settling in Sao Mateus. I descend through two of their children- Appelonia (wife of Manuel Furtado Costa) and Catherina (who married Matheus Machado Ferreira.) Also listed among her ancestors is Joao Fonseca b. 1435 Lagos, Algarve, Portugal married to ??? with Goncolo Annes da Fonseca b. about 1475 Lagos, Portugal m.Mecia de Andrade Machedo b. about 1487 somewhere this family went to Terceira (Angra do Hirismo) and also ties into my family. This is consistant with the informtion I received from my g. grandfather Jose Andrade Macedo via my aunt. Is there anyone who can trace these people to Francisco Lopes da Fonseca??.
