Hi I hope I get this in the right place. yesterday I replied but it went under just the heading Azores Google groups Abridged... so i did some thing wrong. Sorry Cheri. Gayle, I think there are computer gliches with these people. they appear in 4 places that I have found in the UMinho database. First, the Salao, Faial and Cedros, Faial databases. Both places have them with the Da i.e Francisco Lopes Da Fonseca, there is no birthplace given in the Salao database. The Cedros Faial database says they were born in Lajes,Pico. The Lajes database does not acknowledge them at all and the Sao Mateus database says they were born there. I have had the same kind of problem tracing Ines Pereira Macedo but am convinced that the Ines given in the Sao Mateus database is her. If you look at the page for Francisco Costa Goulartthen look up his (2nd) wife, Ines Pereira has parents Francisco Lopes Fonseca and Apolonia Candias. If you go to the Madelena database then the parents of Ines Pereira Macedo are not given but her husband and date of marriage to Francisco Costa Goulart is the same as the Ines Pereira in Sao Mateus. I note that you spelled her name Apelonia and I have recently seen that in one of the databases but can't find it now. My posting yesterday is probably relevant to all this so I will try to "snip" it out of it's amonomous place and repost it under this heading but if I don't get it right perhaps ypu could find it in yesterdays postings. Tomorrow morning I start chemotheraphy and may not be well enough to post any more for a while but I will try to look at the postings.
