I'm looking for information on the following family, which lived in Benicia, Solano County for many years: Joaquim Costa, born St. Michael, Azores, about 1825 Manuel Rita Costa, born St. Michael, Azores about 1872 Mary Soares Costa, born St. Michael, Azores, about 1873 Manuel (Tom) Costa, born Fall River, Mass., 1892 Marion James Costa, born Port Costa, CA, 1893 Antone River Costa, born Calif, 1907 (wife Emma) Mary R Costa Lavagnino, born Calif, 1909 + and several other children
I appreciate any insights as to how to check for these relatives, beyond the census records. Does anyone know if there are local registries or city directories for Solano county or for Portuguese societies that might have more information?
