Well, I heard back from my mother's cousin. The woman in this picture is not a relative. It sure is an uncanny resemblance though; and the name Costa too. She said her husband's family arrived in Fall River from Sao Miguel then moved to Southern Cal and then to Berkeley. His father and the children were the only ones that used the name Costa.

They were not labeled and the curennt family has no idea who they were. By looking at censuses, I've felt it could be a Costa family... or a Silva,,, or a Souza.. etc Do you have any photos of this family to compare ? there are eleven photos. Here are two.
