ended up in Fort Bragg, Calif. Their oldest son, one of my uncles, did not like the mainland and later moved back to Hawaii to raise his family, visiting the main-
land periodically.
For everyone: I had someone give me the parents of my grandmothers parents, ( grandmothes side) but no dates, said it was on the Portuguese Consul Log-he and his family
appear on #1496....how do I access that Log?
My greatgrandparents are Manuel Pereira, b. 1846 immigrated 1883 , and Maria dp Coniecao born 1854, immigrated 1883.....Eliseu from S. Miguel Island said
they were at Porto Formoso in 16, Oct. 1872
Thanks for any help.

Does anyone have any idea how most of the Azoreans traveled to
California? I assume they took a boat from the Azores (there was no
other way off before air planes LOL), but did they complete the trip
around So. America and up to California by boat or did they disembark
in New York/Boston and travel by land to California? I've been trying
to find a passenger list with my grandfather/great-grandmother on it
but haven't had any success.
