I've been comparing your information with what is in my database regarding Evangelina Moniz FURTADO, daughter of Caetano Moniz FURTADO and Maria do Espirito Santo FURTADO with the godparents listed as Jose CARREIRO de MEDEIROS and Ermelinda de JESUS. I'm trying to determine who this Jose and Ermelinda are. When I found a marriage record for Manuel/Manoel NUNES and Ermelinda CARREIRO, the record listed her parents as Jose C. CARREIRO and Rosa de JESUS. It feels like there is some sort of connection between my friend's grandparents, specifically his paternal grandmother, and the FURTADO family. There's a puzzle piece missing somewhere.
