Gail,

Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) who is running this sale has been around doing DNA
for genealogy since 2001, I think. So they have the largest database. They
use some big name geneticists and stay current on the latest discoveries
and follow current guidelines for DNA testing. Their turn around time is
about 2-4 weeks on Family Finder, depending on the size of the batch (they
tell you 6 weeks, which is their max).

Ancestry started out as a publishing company. Then they built their online
database (U.S. Census and other images you can see). Then they got into
DNA. Last Nov, they started their own kind of Family Finder test. Those
who ordered last November got their results in April. Five or 6 months
later. Since they are just launching this, their database is really small
and you probably won't get as many matches. And probably none that are
Portuguese.

Test with FTDNA. I have 92 Family Finder results, 4 at the lab, and I
don't know how many coupons I have given out. I'll post what's been
ordered in a couple of days.
