Be careful when matching my dad and Shirley. There is so much intermarriage there that the prediction may be stronger than reality. If they are predicting 3rd cousins, it could be 4th or even 5th. Many of your matches will not be on this genealogy list (especially if you are of other non-Portuguese ancestry). You'll need to contact each person individually. Do a couple a day. You're going to have to research further than your greats though. And work on the freguesias. Sao Miguel island isn't enough. Since you match me, Shirley, and Altino, though, it probably has something to do with Vila Franca.
