Hi Cindy,

I have tried but cannot put the file in a different format. It is in a .tif
file which is viewable with Windows Photo Viewer.

The following is a translation: From the book of Baptisms for 1877 from
Santissimo Salvador Church, Ribeirinha, Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Acores,
Page 19 record number 40.

On the 24 day of the month of June 1877 in the parish of Santissimo Salvador
Church in the village of Ribeirinha in the council of Ribeira Grande the
Diocese of Angra, I solemnly baptized a baby of the feminine sex with given
the name Maria who was born a little past 12 in the morning, the legitimate
daughter first of the name of Francisco da Silva Canario worker and form the
parish Nossa Senhora da Conceicao, in Ribeira Grande and Philomena de Jesus
of the above mentioned parish (Santissimo Salvador) in the village of
Ribeirinha and residing at Gramas de Banxo, the paternal granddaughter of
Joaquim da Silva Canario and Maria da Silva and the maternal granddaughter
of Manuel da Silva and Catherina de Jesus, the godparents are Manuel da
Silva a farmer and his wife Rosa da Sousa.

I still need to collect the rest of the files I have.
