Hi. I am researching Pedro Tavares born 1883 in Agua de Pau, San Miguel and have been unable to find him in the passport files or ship passenger lists that are available. According to the 1930 US Census, he arrived in the US in 1904 (his wife provided that information to the census enumerator). His older brother Jose was born in AdP in 1882. He received a passport 5 June 1904, but I think he did not use it. Jose was married in AdP in November 1906, had a large family, and presumably never left. It seems to me that if Pedro was going to leave the Azores, he would have gotten a passport with his brother and likely travelled together. Thanks!
