My husband and adult son made their first-ever trip to Sao Miguel this spring. They were warmly welcomed by their extended relatives, as well as by our list friend, Eliseu. My husband is in his mid-50s -- the face of his Porto Formoso cousin was the first face of his late father's family he had ever seen. It was a very emotionally-rewarding trip.
