I am still stuck trying to locate from where Manuel J. Vargas originated
from in Faial. I have discovered he has two brothers with different last
names (source 1949 obit for Manuel); Frank Vargas Cardoza (of San Jose, Ca)
and the late Joe Cardoza of Castro Valley, Ca (Alameda County, Eden
Township). What gives with the names being different. The death obit of a
Frank Vargas Cardoza of San Jose is Cardoza/Gomes. The death cert of
Manuel J. Vargas shows fathers name as Manuel J. Vargas ( no mother given
). I am stuck...I also found records for Joe but can't gleam any info.
