Diane D, A map of the freguesias of the Azores can be found on the Azores GenWeb here: http://goo.gl/M2vKT Click on your island on the map. A list of churches with online links (if there are online records) are listed below the map.
You may want to bookmark the main site as well: http://goo.gl/OpRjl Most stuff that most researchers want is under "Research Aids." In basic genealogy classes, they teach that kids are roughly 2 years apart (on average). So in a 10 year period, you should find about 5 kids. I'd give or take a kid (so I'd think about 4 to 6 kids). This would assume a younger woman. If the mom was on her 2nd marriage, she may be older and near the end of her childbearing years. When I'm researching a Portuguese family with Azorean records, I go 9 months after the birth and start searching for the next kid. (Or if I'm researching back in time, I go 9 months before). Yes, you will find baptisms for sick babies. Even the ones that die shortly after birth. I know we've posted some of them on the list, because some don't quite follow the usual format (like the midwife baptized the sick baby).
