Hi Peggy, You don't want to contact a researcher who does exclusive Azorean research until you have found the freguesia over there. You need to do more American research and they can't help you with that part. It would be like someone from England writing to you and stating their ancestor was born somewhere in the United States. And there's no Ancestry database.
You will need to fix the typos in your query (ancestor born Faial 1968, yet the parents immigrated 76 years earlier, in 1892). You have to do all kinds of research in America before jumping over to the Azores. You found their graves, but you need to get their death certificates, obits, marriage, U.S. Census, naturalization, Alien Registration (if alive in 1940), etc. A how to guide of where to begin can be found here: goo.gl/uHRmY Hopefully, some of the American sources will give you the freguesia (village) on Terceira or Faial. After that, you can hire a researcher or learn to "read" yourself.
