Greeneyes, I don't know if anyone has helped you, but here are my two cents worth. I can't help you identify the people (the three man may be just a post card ? :) ). The photographer was Damiao Photo, Rua Zeferimo Pedrozo No. 785, Poco do Bispo (a district of LIsbon) Photo of lady with fancier garb, at the bottom it just say the name of the photographers in Libon. Card with - Fotografia Moderna (Teixeira e Nascimento) - address Calcada de Santo Andre No. 45, Lisbon. The previous photo was done by them. Post card with postage of 10 Reis has the address for a Mr. Francisco Monet, Rua Direita de Maravilha No. 139?, Beato, Lisboa. Beato is another district of Lisbon. The photo of the lady with blouse was done by Damiao Photo, address Rua Saraiva dde Carvalho No.192, Lisboa. You have the address of the photographers. Maybe they could help identify the persons. The pictures seem to be from the late 1800's to earl;y 1900's but.... no harm trying. Good luck and God Bless.Hermano Date: Thu, 14 Feb 2013 03:48:38 -0800 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Re: Silveria and Baptista Genealogy in Portugal
Thank you everyone that responded. I initially did not upload the correct side of the postcard. Attached is the side of the card which I believe has an address on it. I have also attached unknown photographs that have writing on them, possibly indicating locations. Any information you can provide is helpful. Thank you. I have very limited information on him. I know he had a nephew named Manoel Baptista and a niece named Luduvina Baptista that possibly lived in Lisbon. He also had a niece named Maria Amalia (surname unknown) and a nephew named Belchior (surname unknown) that lived in Portugal. Based on a letter, I believe he had a brother-in-law named Manoel Maria (surname unknown). The letter by Manoel Maria refers to Francisco as cunhado, which I think means brother-in-law. It seems that Francisco was the only one of his family to move from Portugal to Texas. I know that he was in Lisbon, Portugal visiting his family in 1909 based on a letter I have. I also have photos of various Portuguese relatives but I am unable to identify the people in the photos. Also, has anyone with Portuguese ancestry taken the ancestry.com DNA test? The results my family received showed "uncertain" and there are no matches with anyone from Portugal, so it is of no use to us. -- -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected].
