When i spoke to the woman at the cemetery, she said that if someone such as a relative, close friend, neighbor, and they didn't have the money for a burial plot families would let them use a grave on theirs. So in our family, Manuel j Leal who as Doug said was quite well off more than likely bought the 6 grave burial plot. now along the edge of plot in 1883 there was a 4 month old infant girl buried who to my knowledge is not relation, then manual who died at the age of 40 was buried in 1886 in grave 1. Then again in 1893 another young infant girl of 9 months was buried along the edge also. Now since Manuel had passed and my GG grandfather was probably in charge of the plot when Joao Pacheco. To make sure there was going to be enough room for more family in 1918 he said for Joao to be buried on top of Manuel. In the 2nd grave is my GG grandmother Maria Leal da Rosa buried in 1932, in the 3rd grave is my GG grandfather Antonio Silveira Pereira in 1957. In 4th grave is their son Antonio jr. buried in 1975. That leaves graves 5&6 open. In Bristol county a number of the cemeteries don't have any plots left to sell so they have closed all the individual offices and brought their dad to day operation to one new entity. Empty graves owned by families will still be there for future use.
