I'm going to answer this on the DNA thread, not on a thread about a
freguesia.

I need to know which DNA test you have in mind (Y-DNA, mtDNA, or Family
Finder). But if you are asking about uploading your Gedcom, include
everything.

If you are ordering Family Finder, you should do it for your mom. Anyone
who has access to their parents should use their parents for Family Finder.
If a sibling of your parents are alive, use them. And for the lucky few
who have access to their grandparents, use them.

If your father is deceased and you want his Y-DNA, you are not the person
to take the DNA test as I don't think the name Elle is male. But maybe I'm
wrong and you are a man. If you are a female though, you'd have to get an
uncle or male cousin that carries your dad's surname to take a Y-DNA test.
If you were ordering Family Finder on your dad, I'd use one of his siblings
if there are any still alive (as they are the same generation). If there
is no one, then yes, you'd be the person to take the DNA test.
